About Blue Torch

Company Overview

Blue Torch is a leader in providing nerve sparing technology to support surgeons in patient outcome improvement.  Our CaverMap Surgical Aid is available to assist physicians in preserving vital nerves during prostate cancer surgery and colorectal procedures. CaverMap also compliments the tactical innovations in minimally invasive robotic assisted surgery.

The CaverMap Surgical Aid is a diagnostic tool that the top surgeons use to identify the nerves responsible for potency or vital bodily functions.  CaverMap's stimulation is beneficial in confirming nerve function and intactness after surgical cancer removal.  Clinical researchers rely on CaverMap for study control and measurement.

In prostate surgery, if the sensitive and hidden nerves responsible for potency are compromised, then erectile function is not possible, even with the aid of such drugs as sildenafil citrate (Viagra, a registered Pfizer trademark).

CaverMap is changing the way surgeons improve nerve sparing surgery.  Increasingly, surgeons are not only using CaverMap for nerve sparing, but also for nerve grafting, a procedure that allows new nerve fibers to regenerate within a harvested or reclaimed nerve graft to restore function.

Blue Torch offers CaverMap through doctors. We have a medical reimbursement policy that enables patients, doctors and hospitals to benefit from surgical technique advancements involving CaverMap.

Our technology was spun-out of Uromed and is supported by many published studies to assess its safety, efficacy and utility. We are committed to design, develop and market devices which meet the highest quality medical devices directives (ISO 9001, CE Mark, FDA-GMP) and to partner with the entire clinical team to incubate and develop new technologies. We invite you to join us in our mission and the dynamic conversation required for the continual improvement of existing technologies and new innovations.

The Surgical Aid is not designed to replace the surgeon’s expertise in mapping out the neurovascular bundles.

CaverMap must be administered under a doctor's prescription to provide medical benefit.  CaverMap is often not eligible for a patient's insurance company reimbursement. An ABN Form is required to receive patient payments.
